Just Ultra Sonically Cleaned and polished …………………
New York Callet horns are professional models in every sense of the word.
Jerry was a Calicchio dealer in the 1970’s when he contracted with DEG (Donald E. Getzen) to build trumpets he designed, based on the Calicchio. They were medium large and large bores of .460″ and .468″ and later the super large bore of .472″. They sold for a little less than the expensive horns of the day, Bach, Schilke etc. In the 1980″s Jerry designed and came out with the “Soloist” and the “Grand Prix” made by Kanstul and modified by Callet to the buyer’s specifications (opening up the venturi, etc.) after this there were no more New York models.
This is the large bore (.468) NY Callet and I can tell you it is a really great trumpet, with a lead pipe slightly smaller than a stock Bach, opening to a large bore tuning slide and valve section and then a huge tapered bell similar to a “Wild Thing” but with a normal sized flair to fit standard mutes. This a very rare find and a great player to boot. No dents, dings or trauma. It comes with what appears as a Getzen Case. No Mouthpiece. Price now before I clean and polish, so act fast if you want a break in the price.
