The 180 Series uses a 1 piece valve casing made entirely out of brass. The 190 Series uses a valve casing from the Artisan Series trumpets that is a 2 piece valve casing that uses Nickel-Silver instead of brass for the upper baluster of the valve casing. Using nickel-silver here increases the mass of the trumpet at a spot that will not negatively impact the overall vibration and response of the trumpet. Instead, this mass simply helps to add a richer core to the tone of the trumpet. This is how the older vintage Mt. Vernon Bach’s were made.

The other differences in the 190 series are a slightly larger bell diameter, a side-seamed bell (like the older horns) and the smaller vintage style braces. The 190 Series also includes 2 sets of valve guides, 1 in brass and the other in nylon. 190 Series models come with a Bach 3C mouthpiece and a special edition case (red fabric and 50th celebration badge).
